Natalya Asaad
Founder/CEO
Natalya is a senior in high school and a passionate leader who has dedicated herself to empowering young women and gender-diverse youth through sports, STEM, and personal development. Her journey began with founding Girl Talk, a school-based initiative that created a safe space for girls to discuss important issues, build confidence, and foster community. Inspired by the success of Girl Talk, Natalya expanded her vision to launch Our Next Gen, a nonprofit organization focused on bridging the gap between sports, STEM, and equity.
As the founder and lead event planner, Natalya coordinates and oversees all Our Next Gen initiatives, from organizing panels with professionals to hands-on workshops and sports clinics, ensuring each event provides accessible and meaningful opportunities for youth to thrive. Motivated by her personal experiences growing up in an all-girl household and learning resilience from her mother, an immigrant and single parent, Natalya aims to create spaces that uplift and inspire the next generation.
Dana Deng
Director of Communications/Marketing
Dana is a senior in high school with a passion for STEM and a flair for creativity. As the Director of Marketing for Our Next Gen, she designs all visual media and manages the nonprofit’s social platforms, ensuring its mission to empower young women and gender-diverse youth is effectively communicated to the community. Her innovative designs and engaging campaigns have helped grow the organization’s presence and impact.
In addition to her creative talents, Dana conducts research, assists in planning impactful events, and plays a key role in internal and external communications. Her passion for STEM drives her dedication to creating opportunities for others to explore and excel in this field. Balancing her artistic vision with strategic planning, Dana brings energy and innovation to every aspect of the nonprofit’s work. Her leadership and creativity are essential to the success of Our Next Gen’s mission to inspire and uplift the next generation.
Our Story
In 2022, after co-founding Girl Talk at Centennial Secondary School, a club dedicated to creating a safe space for girls to build confidence and discuss important issues, we realized the potential to make an even larger impact. Inspired to empower young women and gender-diverse youth on a broader scale, we founded OurNextGen in 2023. This nonprofit focuses on bridging gaps in STEM, sports, and leadership by providing accessible resources, mentorship, and community-building opportunities, aiming to inspire the next generation of changemakers.

Dear Supporters and Friends of Our Next Gen,
I’m so excited to share more about Our Next Gen and the impact we’re striving to create. This journey began with Girl Talk, a small school-based initiative I started to provide a safe space for girls to connect, grow, and build confidence. The overwhelming positivity from that experience inspired me to expand my efforts, leading to the creation of Our Next Gen—a nonprofit dedicated to empowering young women and gender-diverse youth through sports, STEM, and personal development.
As a senior in high school, I’ve seen firsthand how important it is to have accessible opportunities and mentorship, especially for those who may face barriers. Whether it’s organizing sports clinics, hosting STEM workshops, or fostering leadership development, each of our events is designed to inspire and equip youth with the tools they need to thrive. Our goal is to build an inclusive community where everyone feels supported in pursuing their passions and potential.
